Swan spectacular - WWT Martin Mere, Lancs
Go and see the spectacle for yourself everyday at 3pm at the Swan Link Hide and 3.30pm in the Raines Observatory, which includes a wardens talk. The swan feeds were Highly Commended in the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards 2009/10 for the Best Visitor Experience award becuase of the way you can see and be up close to thousands of migratory birds.

Who Needs Wellies? Trail - RSPB Leighton Moss, Lancs
Take your team and take part in this self-led family trail to discover more about why our wonderful wildlife doesn’t need wellies and the foods they eat in their wetland homes.

Hawfinches at Sizergh - Sizergh National Trust, Nr Kendal, Cumbria
Watch these rare visitors to Sizergh's hornbeam trees with expert help from the ranger. 8am - 10am.

Science show: The Moon and the eclipse - Jodrell Bank, Macclesfield
Join one of their fun and inspiring science shows to learn more about our moon. There will be rocket launches and demonstrations illustrating what it is like on the Moon. Shows run at 11.00, 12.00, 13.30 and 14.30 and last 30 mins.

Introduction to Moore Nature Reserve - Moore Nature Reserve, Nr Warrington
Join the wardens on a walk to learn about the history of the site, the wildlife and habitats present and the work undertaken to conserve the area. Starts 10am.

Treacle Market - Macclesfield, Cheshire
Take a basket and stock up on wonderful locally produced beers, juices and delicious provisions. Source unique artworks, antiques, books, vintage home wares, jewellery and crafts from local makers. Treacle is the perfect place to spend a few hours and meet up with friends, browse the stalls and listen to live music whilst sampling exceptional street food for lunch.

Skydancers on the Dee - The Parade, Parkgate, Wirral
This could be the last chance to see Skydancers on the Dee, go come along to Parkgate to find out more about the hen harrier story and what you can do to help save them before it's too late! Look for the RSPB marquee along the main promenade at Parkgate, where friendly staff and volunteers will be on hand with telescopes and binoculars to show you these beautiful, agile birds hunting over the marsh, and coming in to roost there at dusk. Plenty of family activities and other RSPB information will be available. 12noon - Dusk.

Spring Ramble - Car park opposite the church in Acton, Chester Road, Nantwich, CW5 8LF
This moderate 10km (6 mile) walk takes in a section of the Shropshire Union Canal, as well as quiet lanes and Public Rights of Way over farm fields. It's an opportunity for some Easter holiday exercise! Booking in advance is essential. Suitable for anyone over the age of 10.

Easter Adventure Quest - Beeston Castle and Woodland Park, Cheshire, CW6 9TX
Adventurers wanted this Easter weekend! You'll meet a courtly character from the past with stories of times gone by. This lively figure will be happy to help you on your quest as you explore Beeston and crack the clues. Rise to the challenge and win your chocolate reward. It's time to get hands-on with history. 11am - 5pm.

Moorland Adventure Easter Kids Activity Club, Climb and Abseil - Tegg's Nose Country Park, Macclesfield
A great way to experience some varied exciting activities in the countryside with local experts Moorland Adventure! Based at Tegg’s Nose Country Park, each day focuses on different activities and it will give you a taste of adventure! Suitable for anyone between the ages of 8 and 16. The North West Reptile Club go along to Martin Mere for their monthly meetings and give visitors the opportunity to ‘meet & greet’ the reptiles from 12noon until 3pm in the Lecture Theatre.

Medieval St George's Day Celebrations - Beeston Castle and Woodland Park, Cheshire, CW6 9TX
Dragon slayers wanted! Cheer on our hero, St George, as he battles the mighty dragon in a quest to save the fair maiden. Discover the legend of St. George, patron saint of both England and soldiers, as his story is brought to life in the castle grounds. Junior knights will be able to join in, and the whole family can enjoy the celebrations of this great British legend with a feast of medieval fun and games throughout the weekend.

Orienteering for All – Tegg’s Nose Country Park, Macclesfield
An evening event held by Manchester and District Orienteering Club. Courses suitable for everyone, beginners and experienced orienteers. Families and groups welcome. Instruction available. There is a charge for this event. Adults £5, Children £2. Time: Registration from 5.30pm. Start times from 6.00pm until 7.00pm

Go along to experience the sights and sounds of Moore Nature Reserve at dawn as you walk around to hear the magnificent birdsong. Local experts will be on hand to help you learn to identify the birds by their song. 5:30am.

Warriors at Beeston - Beeston Castle and Woodland Park, Cheshire, CW6 9TX
Armed with spear, shield and bow – and even using an almighty perrier - the fearless warriors will fight it out to be proclaimed victorious. Visitors are invited to join the medieval townsfolk of Beeston to cheer on the warriors as they prepare for battle, practice their skills and compete in the final battle in the main arena. Friends and family will delight at the clash of weapons, as the awesome power of the warriors is put to the test.

The Cheshire County Show - Clay House Farm, Knutsford
As ever they are planning another action-packed couple of days for the visitors – so keep an eye on their website as the Show evolves over the year. If you want to experience and celebrate all that is great and good about the countryside then the Cheshire County Show is the only place to be as it brings together the many interesting and fascinating aspects of farming and rural life in Cheshire.

Fungal Hunt - Marbury Country Park, Northwich
A repeat of this very popular event run by Fungalpunk Dave of Fungal Friends. No charge but booking essential. Sessions from 10am–12.00 (Suitable for families, children 8 years and over) and 1pm - 3pm (Adults). Meets at the Ranger's Cabin.

Fungal Foray - Moore Nature Reserve, Nr Warrington
A guided walk around the reserve focusing on fascinating fungi. A local fungi enthusiast will help to identify all the mushrooms and tell us some fungi facts. 10am.

Small Mammal Trapping - Moore Nature Reserve, Nr Warrington
Join them as they survey for small mammals. They hope to see mice, voles and shrews. Members of the Cheshire Mammal Group will be on hand to explain more about these rarely-seen animals. 9:30am.

Autumn Bird Walks - Northwich Woodlands
See Migrating and Wintering Birds at Haydn’s Pool, Ashton’s and Neumann’s Flashes. From 10.00am –12.00 and 2.00–4.00 pm. Meets: Cumberland Car Park, Northwich

Parkland Trees - Marbury Park, Northwich
A guided walk looking at the wide variety of trees in Marbury Country Park, including the Arboretum. Meets: 10.00 am at the Ranger's Cabin

Beginners' Bird Walk - Moore Nature Reserve, Nr Warrington
A chance for anybody new to bird watching or with a passing interest in wildlife to learn about the variety of birds at Moore. Please take binoculars if you have them, although some pairs may be borrowed from the wardens. 10am.
